Overview

Professional residential concrete installation in the Greater Toronto Area

Residential concrete work is its own discipline β€” every pour happens next to landscaping, hardscaping, neighbours and finished homes. We approach every job with that context in mind: precise excavation, careful protection of surrounding surfaces, and finishes that match (or complement) the rest of the home. From a single new front step to a full wraparound porch, every project gets the same attention to detail.

Porches & front steps

The front porch and steps are the first concrete most visitors see β€” and one of the most weather-exposed areas of any home. We pour porches and steps with proper reinforcement, air-entrained mixes, and finishes that match the home's architecture. Tooled non-slip surfaces on treads, smooth or stamped risers, and integrated railings are coordinated as part of the design.

Walkways & paths

Front and side walkways tie the driveway to the entry and run between front and back yards. We design walkways with proper widths (a minimum of 4 feet for front paths, 3 feet for side paths), correct slope for drainage, and decorative options that integrate with adjacent landscaping.

Patios

Backyard patios are usable outdoor rooms. We size them around the furniture you plan to use, slope them properly away from the house, and finish them in broom, stamped or exposed-aggregate finishes. Integrated planters, low retaining walls and step transitions to the yard are designed and built as part of the same project.

Garage floors & pads

Garage floors take more abuse than almost any concrete surface β€” vehicle traffic, dropped tools, road salt, oils. We pour garage floors with heavy reinforcement, properly sloped drains where required, and densifier or epoxy treatments for maximum durability. Detached garage pads and slabs are designed for the structure that will sit on them.

Foundation repair & underpinning

Cracks, water infiltration and settled corners are addressed with proper structural repair β€” not just cosmetic patches. We use epoxy injection for narrow cracks, polyurethane lifting for settled slabs, and full underpinning where corners or sections of foundation need to be lowered to address structural issues.

Stair wells & window wells

Concrete stair wells (for below grade entrances and side entrances) and window wells (for egress windows) are built in cast-in-place concrete with proper drainage, waterproofing and railings. These are critical, weather-exposed components β€” we build them to handle the full Ontario climate without leaking.

Decorative & stamped work

Stamped, coloured and exposed-aggregate concrete turns functional surfaces into design features. We carry a range of stamp patterns and integral colours, and we maintain working samples so you can see and feel finishes before committing. Decorative work is sealed with a film-forming acrylic to enhance and protect the colour.

Materials & finishes

Ontario Building Code compliance

Every project is built to current OBC standards. We handle the permit application, prepare the structural and site drawings, coordinate engineer's stamps where required, and book each municipal inspection on your behalf. Final approval documentation is yours to keep on file.

Frequently asked

Residential Concrete questions, answered

Can you match my existing concrete?
We can come close β€” colour, texture and finish β€” but exact matches are difficult because concrete weathers over time. We'll show finish samples and recommend the closest option.
What's the difference between residential concrete and commercial?
Scale and tolerances. Residential work happens in tighter spaces, next to finished surfaces, with a higher demand on aesthetics. We staff and price residential projects accordingly.
Do I need a permit for porch or walkway work?
Walkways and patios usually don't require permits. Porches with structural elements (railings, roofs, footings) typically do. We verify during consultation.
How do I prevent winter damage to new concrete?
Air-entrained mixes plus a quality sealer handle Ontario winters well. We recommend avoiding deicing salts in the first winter while the concrete fully cures.
Can you repair existing concrete or does it all need to be replaced?
Many cracks and settlement issues are repairable without full replacement. We assess each case and recommend the most cost-effective fix.
What's the typical timeline?
Small projects (a set of front steps, a single walkway) often complete in 3–5 days. Larger projects (full patios, multiple elements) can run 1–3 weeks. Quotes include specific timelines.
